Best Wall Gun Safe Options
Models Under $250
Buying the right wall gun safe was important to me. The difficulty was that there are many different choices; some are under $100, while others are well over $500. I am no cheapskate, but if I don’t have to spend a lot of money for something I won’t.
All of the wall safes on this page can be purchased for LESS THAN $250. When looking over your options on this page, here are some criteria you may want to be think about:
- Budget: Do you have a strict budget? Some of the safes on this page are super cheap,
but if you are going to
the hassle of installing a wall safe, maybe spending an extra $100 or so is money well spent. - Size: Look, size matters here. Make sure the safe will fit in the wall space. Seems like a simple concept but you’d be surprised. Also, think about what is going in the safe and whether it will fit.
- Easily Concealable: Some of these models stick out an inch or two. How are you going to cover it?
- Access: Key? Combination? Electronic? What type of lock do you want for your wall gun safe? If you go with a key, where are you going to store the key? Do you have any children around that could find the key?
Cannon has an excellent reputation for making full size gun safes. It only makes one wall gun safe, Model KPWV.
KPWV
This safe has a UL Group II combination lock. It also has a 7 gauge (0.1875 inch) steel door. These two
features are well above what you can normally expect for a lower priced wall safe. The recessed portion of the
safe is made with 14 gauge steel. Suggested retail pricing for this model is $250, but you can usually get it for under $200.
The wall gun safe looks great (not all wall safes do) and is a great choice if you only have a standard 4is a great choice if
you only have a standard 4 inch depth wall. If you have a 6 inch deep wall, you may want to get a bigger safe.

First Alert is not really known for making any safes, let alone a wall gun safe. However, they do make one model that is very good for the money.
GS2070AF
This safe has an electronic lock (with an emergency override key lock). It has a flange around it
for a nice clean look after installation. The depth on this safe actually expands to fit both 2×4 and 2×6 wall depths.
While this feature is unique, be aware that the electronic lock protrudes into the safe. Some users have
complained that it is difficult, if not impossible to fit a handgun into the safe if you are using it in a 4
inch deep wall. FYI – This safe was originally made by Honeywell.

LockState makes some of the least expensive safes in the industry. Not only that, but its LS-52EN wall safe model is one of the BEST SELLING on Amazon. Let’s take a closer look.
LS-52EN
At the end of the day, if you are looking for a basic, no-nonsense, inexpensive wall safe, this is arguably one of
your best choices. It mounts flush to the wall and has an electronic lock (and key lock as well). I also like that the safe
is a little longer (height) than some safes.

Weight: | 34 lbs. |
Interior Dimensions (H x W x D): | 20.28″ x 13.39″ x 3.35″ |
Exterior Dimensions: | 20.67″ x 13.78″ x 3.74″ |
The Mesa MAWS2113E is relatively inexpensive, approximately $140. Like the First Alert, this wall gun safe can expand or contract to fit a 4-6 inch deep wall.

MAWS2113E
Overall, the reviews on this wall gun safe are poor. Installation is very difficult and the electronic lock tends
to take up too much room in the interior.
Since you have over 10 different lower priced options, why fight the tide?
Take a look at something else.

Sentry Safe has one of the most popular product lines in the industry. This popularity is mostly fueled (in my opinion) by the
price of the products, not necessarily the quality. This product uses 16 gauge steel, which is very thin. You are all set, so
long as, the thief forgets his can opener!
GS7150
This wall safe can be purchased for just over $100. It has thin steel and a very minimal key and combination lock. For
the bargain shopper, this could be your safe. However, so many people complain of the quality, that I would wait a month or two and
save up for a better quality option. Also, note that the safe is only approximately 14 inches high.
Why go to the trouble of cutting a hole in your wall to install something where so many people experience trouble with the
product? Save a few extra bucks and get something that will last better.

Hands down it is NO contest. Stack-On makes the cheapest wall safes in America! They have three different models and ALL of them are under $100. No one will confuse the security features of these three with a $4,000 full size gun safe, but then again, that isn’t the point.
Of all the lower priced units, these get the best reviews. They are inexpensive, simple to install and provide what they were meant to provide: Inexpensive, concealed security.
